Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Student Emergency Grant

As an expansion of the CARES Act, the Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriations Act (CRRSAA), 2021, 于12月11日签署成为法律. 27, 2020. UWF received CRRSAA 基金 in the amount of $3,400,694 to offer financial aid grants to students. 不像CARES分布, CRRSAA guidance required institutions to prioritize students with exceptional need. UWF is committed to providing support for students with the most significant financial needs arising from the COVID-19 pandemic.

Students meeting the priority eligibility criteria below were automatically considered for a CRRSAA Emergency Student Aid Grant beginning in Spring 2021. Students that did not meet the criteria were considered through the current UWF Emergency Grant Process accessible via MyUWF. Students needed to document a demonstrated COVID-19 related hardship.

Priority eligibility was given to students meeting the following criteria:

  • 去.
  • Had a 2020-2021 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) application on file.
  • In good standing to be eligible to receive Title IV aid; see Title IV Eligibility Criteria (Basic
    Eligibility Criteria for Federal Student Aid).
  • Had an Expected Family Contribution (EFC) under $15,000.
  • EFC低于15美元的学生,000 or less with a previous COVID-19 student emergency grant under the CARES Act could have 获得额外奖项.
  • Grant amounts varied based on student financial need, with priority given to those with exceptional need.
  • Award amounts did not exceed $2,000.*

Student notification of eligibility

Students were notified via email to review their self-serve portal and were required to review and accept their award. 通过接受, the student acknowledged the direct impact of COVID-19 for which they incurred expenses related to components based on the cost of attendance.

  • Award amounts varied, but the 最大 a student could receive was $2,000.*

  • Any grants not accepted within two weeks were canceled. For any canceled awards, students e-mailed finaid@mitsumemo.com to have their award reinstated provided 基金 remained available.

  • UWF exercised professional judgment to make an award when deemed necessary.

1 A portion of CARES and CRRSAA institutional aid was used for students with a military affiliation whose housing allowance was negatively impacted by COVID.
2 UWF received a Title III SIP grant from the US Department of Education (DOE) which made UWF eligible to receive HEERF funding in the category of SIP. Of the total $1,808,800 received, $1,068,315 was used for student aid. Of the amount used for student aid, $337,172 was awarded to seniors near graduation, 和731美元,143 was used to provide scholarships for students to help assist in the cost of attendance in the STEM Scholars program.
